Private Sector Forum

Hosted by the UN Secretary-General, the annual Private Sector Forum brings the voice of business to the UN for an interactive luncheon, featuring roundtables and high-level networking opportunities. Organized by the UN Global Compact in collaboration with UN partners, the Forum will take place on the first day of the High-Level UN General Assembly week in conjunction with the SDG Summit 2023.

At this year’s Private Sector Forum business leaders will share their views with Governments, and announce ambitious actions and investments to drive progress and investment towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).  At this critical juncture, all stakeholders, including Governments and business leaders need to rally around a shared mission to generate shared prosperity for all. The UN Secretary-General has called for urgent global efforts to “prioritize investments in people,” and for an increase in financing for sustainable development as part of his SDG Stimulus to Deliver Agenda 2030. Shifting corporate capital towards the SDGs will be vital to closing existing financing gaps.

Therefore, business has a critical role to play in these rescue efforts – as well as powerful reasons to take action. Business cannot thrive unless people and the planet are also thriving. At the Private Sector Forum, leaders are expected to rally behind the UN Secretary-General’s SDG Stimulus package and jumpstart actions to achieve the SDGs.

Invitations will be sent on a rolling basis starting in July 2023.
